Subrahmanya Sashti 2021
For Hindus, Skanda Sashti is a significant event because it honours Lord Skanda, the God of War and son of Shiva and Parvati. Murugan, Kartikeyan, and Subramanya are some of the names given to Lord Skanda. Every month, on the Sashti Tithi of Shukla Paksha, the celebration is held. Skanda is revered by South India Hindus and is regarded as Lord Ganesha's younger brother in south India, but he is regarded as Ganesha's elder brother in north India.

Lord Subrahmanya is worshipped as a five-headed serpent on this day. It is widely believed that anyone who worships Lord Subrahmanya on this day would be rid of the 'Sarpa Dosha.'
